Often theoretical perspectives on psychedelia are used to discuss sentiments concerning radical shifts in consciousness or thinking to imagine a future which is “better” or more utopic than the reality of the present. These perspectives hinge on the ability of psychedelics to stimulate an experience which destabilizes the ordinary perspective of the present. 'The greatest place I’ve (n)ever seen' problematizes this narrative, suggesting that that the world is an inherently unstable place and that psychedelia is just one method which is used to analyze the forces put in place to create an illusion of stability.
